Student Placement

Students on Field Placement at Centennial Infant and Child Centre work in the preschool with children, teachers, and therapists to support the growth and development of children with special needs. This includes hands-on, 1:1 experience guiding children through both typical preschool activities and the many therapies and developmental strategies that are integrated into the day, as well as opportunities to design and implement programming for larger groups with a wide range of special needs. Students are supervised closely by teachers with years of experience, and receive additional training through workshops, projects, and the learning activities of their institutions. Students come from diverse backgrounds, programs, and work histories, but they all share a desire to engage deeply with and strive towards the development of children with special needs.

CICC supports placement students from the following institutions:

  • Centennial College
  • Durham College
  • George Brown College
